Things have changed. Life has changed from what we thought was normal. We are moving into a new reality.
Change can be unsettling for many of us. We have built our lives around people and things we see as important. The changes that have been forced upon us have given us a new reality. We have to spend more time alone, or with only our immediate family. This new reality is all about you. The only thing that matters to God is you.
I believe we are moving into one of the greatest times in history. This will be a reality where God becomes the center of our story. He is taking His rightful place in history. We are learning how to live in His new reality.
“But in the depths of my heart I truly know… (Psalm 3:3 TPT)”
In this moment, all that matters is what you know in the depths of your heart. The most important thing to God is knowing you in the depths of your heart. What does that mean to you? Many of us say we know Him, but how deep do we let Him go? We hold back parts of ourselves, our fears, our pains, our disappointments – we limit His work in our hearts.
But in the depths of my heart…. you don’t want to know what I hold there, God. It is ugly.
My child, all that matters is you. I already know, and I still want you…
“Whenever I was in distress, you enlarged me. I’m being squeezed again – I need your kindness right away! Grant me your grace, hear my prayer, and set me free! (Psalm 4: 1 TPT)”
We are being squeezed. Think about what that means. If you hold something in your hand and squeeze it, you put pressure on it. It is constricted and appears to get smaller. Life is squeezing us right now. This new reality is squeezing us. Now notice what came first in the verse from Psalm 4. “Whenever I was in distress, you enlarged me…” While life is squeezing us, He is enlarging us. He is making our hearts bigger than the problem. He is expanding our capacity to live!
What do you continue to struggle with? Recovery? Fear? Anxiety? You are bigger than your problem. We frequently say that God is bigger than our problems, but God is with us – so we are bigger than our problem! He is expanding our hearts to carry more life, and He is the center of that life. Psalm 3 goes on to say “You take me and surround me with yourself. Your glory covers me continually.” In this new reality, we are not alone. We are never alone. God is present where we are, surrounding us with more and more of who He is. He knows what we need to move forward into this new reality. He wants us to truly live.
It is no coincidence that this is also the Easter season. Just as we celebrate Jesus moving from death to life, we are being given a chance to hold more of that life. In this moment, this Easter, is all about you. Just you. Just me.
We do not need to understand this new reality. It is not about understanding, it is about being. Being alive with Him – in the depths of your heart. Being enlarged instead of squeezed. We will need Him to be the center of our story to learn how to navigate this new world.
Life…………………… new reality………………………….or death………………….which is it?
“How can I be any good to you dead? For those who are in the graveyards sing no songs. In the darkness of death who remembers you? How could I bring you praise if I’m buried in a tomb? (Psalm 6:5,TPT)”
God I surrender , completely, examine my heart it is open.
How will I know it’s completely, How will I know my heart completely.
God show me your will for my life. I pray.
